The musical artists that I'm most excited to see are SOJA, Rebelution, Iration, Pepper Katchafire, The Green, and Hirie. As for why:

Ever since I discovered SOJA, Jacob Hemphill's lyrics have always connected to me in some way. Whether it's during good or bad times, the music that SOJA puts out always helps me reach a better perspective on whatever situation I may be in.

Rebelution has always been one of my favorite bands and like Jacob Hemphill, Eric Rachmany's words have always found a way to speak to me. Rebelution's music has helped me through some truly tough times in my life and they put on some of the best live shows that I have seen.

Iration is also one of my favorite bands. However, I'm sad to say that I have yet to see them live! Their songs have always made me think about "that special girl" and learning how to play "Falling" on my acoustic guitar was the stepping stone for me in getting down barre chords.

Pepper is an old time favorite that always reminds of my early smoke sessions with a couple of my buds from back home. Pepper's songs are always on our playlists when we just need to chilllll and seeing them live for the first time will be badass without a doubt!

I'm definitely looking forward to Katchafire and The Green because they bring in that island-style vibe that the mainland needs! Seeing them in person in last year's festival was an amazing experience and seeing them both within another weekend is gonna be awesome again!

And finally, Hirie is one of the newer bands that I'm definitely feeling. Her smooth vocals are pleasant to listen to and her upbeat personality is something that I'm looking forward to vibe to during the show.

These are the main artists I'm looking forward to, but that's not to say I won't be vibing to all the others that are part of the incredible lineup. Can't wait til May comes around, let the good vibes roll and MUCH LOVE Surf Roots!

There is an amazing line up of so many talented artists this year and this makes it difficult to choose. So I will choose the 3 that I have never seen live and have been dying to see for years. The first would be SOJA. I am in awe of the beauty of their lyrics and their music inspires me to want to make the world a better place. The second is 311 because they were one of the first bands I heard that influenced my love for reggae music. And last, but certainly not least, is Ziggy Marley. Not only is he the prodigy of one of the most legendary musicians of all time, he is one of my biggest role models and I was thrilled when I learned he was a vegan/vegetarian like me! His song "true to myself" has truly touched me and always cheers me up. He is a true peacemaker/benefactor and it would be an incredible honor to see him perform. Keep it irie, Surf Roots!

When I first saw this lineup I was beyond excited!! I've been wanting to go to this festival for years! Music ....Reggae music has always been there in life to remind me to smile...dance...love...and that no matter what that everything will be alright. I would love to see Damian Marley...Ziggy Marley...Steel Pulse...and 311. This would simply be epic!!! It would not only be amazing to see this whole lineup for the first time but to see them in such a beautiful place like Monterrey well that would just be memorable!! I want to see them all!!! Standouts for me would be SOJA, Steel Pulse, J Boog, Stick Figure, Passafire, The Marleys, Rebelution,Iration, Pepper, The Green and Alorosie. I would live to see some new bands I haven't seen yet. Make me a winner! That would be sooo rad!

I'm excited to see Rebelution because they changed my life, if it was not for them I'd never know how much I love Reggae. They turned my depression to happiness, to nothing but good vibes, and if it was not for them I'd never know Cali Roots, Surf Roots, nor would I know all these amazing life changing bands - Plus Reggae fans are the best!
