The Best In Reggae Rock
It's no hard task to represent the cool vibes and easy messages of the reggae stations here in Humboldt County. The area where I live is filled with small town, big minded folk who are well, more than just a little laid back. A walk through Arcata's Saturday Morning (year round!) Outdoor Farmer's Market or strolling around during Arts Alive each week are proofs of just how much this community keeps itself together and spirited. And reggae music is no exception! The area currently boasts more than a few nightclubs that hold a dedicated "reggae night" including The Jambalaya, Toby and Jack's, Ocean Grove in Trinidad, and The Pearl Lounge in Eureka. Not to mention the several Reggae DJ's, including myself, and small reggae bands, including the rising band Woven Roots. This area is filled with college students and young professional alike, who don't mind bumping a few reggae beats while they watch the sun seting over the ocean or sipping on a freshly brewed, locally crafted beer. On behalf of Humboldt County, "We're Jammin'!"
