So me and my best friend Emily went the the Iration Automatic Tour on Tuesday in Buffalo. Micah Brown (@micahbrownmusic), Fortunate Youth (@FortunateYouth), Through the Roots (@throughtheroots), and Iration (@Iration).

We came in from Canada and ended up getting caught in traffic at the border. The powers that be at border patrol had increased security due to a pending Obama visit to western NY. So we encountered major delays and my suspicious fedora did us no favours! We didn’t make it to the venue until around 8, and we missed Micah Brown and Fortunate Youth… Unfortunately! #Wordplay

Seriously though we regret not making it in time. If you haven’t heard of Micah Brown he’s a member of Iration and he has a few solo projects. His latest release is titled “The Isle of Her” $9.99 on ITunes.. get it! A departure from the Iration sound, really mellow and enjoyable.

Fortunate Youth are also a great band, we listened to their song “So Rebel” at least 4 times on the way to the show. Its from their most recent release “Its All a Jam” $9.99 on Itunes, get it! They also appear on the Music Unites compilation. If you’re new to this genre lots of great bands on that compilation, plus all the proceeds go to charity.

We got to the show just in time to catch the entire Through the Roots set, which was incredible! I picked up their latest release the day it came out. Its called “Take You There“, Go to Itunes, listen to “Slow Down” and “Like That” and thank me later. I’ve got, and enjoy all their Music. Self Titled Ep, Here to Stay Ep and the Zombie Remixes Ep. I recommend them all. They had some package deals where you could get all their music at one price. Not sure if its still being offered but you can stay in touch and follow them @throughtheroots they retweet and interact with fans often so give them a follow, like them on Facebook and check out their website.

Me and Emily were right up front for their set, both fans, both sang along to every song. We also happily left with some new Through the Roots shirts – great quality – which to be honest isn’t always the case with band merch. We met all the guys in the band after the show. Not cause we set out to chat them up, they came to us. Great group of guys who clearly care about their fans. The lead singer Evan was at the merch counter with Chris and Brady. My friend was a big fan of Evan! Her exact comment was that she would like to “Grade 8 make out with him”. I’m sure there are many reason Evan got into music, if one was ever living out a grade 8 make out session with my friend Emily…. you made it!

Later in the night the drummer Taylor saw us in our new Through the Roots shirts and took a moment to show us some love. Its was a quick chat but he was a really nice guy, and he’s a great drummer. Has some calligraphy tats on his side, so do I, and thats a painful place to get ink so much respect to Taylor.

Lastly I want to send a thank you shout out to Ross the bassist. 6 string bass folks, amazing! He noticed we were singing along to the songs and made a point of talking to us and thanking us. Kinda made the night, its the little things ya’know. I emailed Ross and thanked him again when I got home.. If you’re reading this Ross thanks for the reply, we’ll see you at the next show. #monteljordanbreakdown

Iration was the headliner, out in support of their newest release “Automatic”. Is it on Itunes, yes! Should you get it, yes! Go to YouTube and check out the video for the song Back Around to. Love it, share it and become beloved by friend who you introduce this band to. I first heard them when I grabbed their Sample This EP. I listened to the song Falling and shared their music with everyone I could. They put on a great show including a Tom Petty cover. My friend got a picture with lead singer Micah and we both grabbed some All About Luv shirts on the way out. They were also really great with interacting with fans at the show, so thanks for a great night!

Check out the later dates of the Automatic Tour if you can, can’t wait till you guys come “Back Around” Cheers!
