The Best In Reggae Rock
One of the best reggae bands you can find, unfortunately is not found in enough fans's collections. They have been playing Roots Rock Reggae and Socca for more than 20 years. Originally from St Lucia, the Bobb brothers, Terry (Drums and Vocals) and Eustace (Bass and Vocals) moved to the NY, US more then 20 years ago and then eventually relocated to Columbus, Oh. Their vocal harmonies are one of the signatures of their sound that always remains constant throughout the years. They have toured the US, shared the stage with some of the top reggae artists, played at some of the biggest festivals, played at Sunsplash in Jamaica, and have been a staple in Ohio, with their authentic sound and uplifting lyrics. They have an arsenal of original music and also pay tribute to the greats peppering their sets with some of your favorite covers by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burnings Spear, Steel Pulse and now they even play a Rebelution song as they are dedicated to educating the people about the best reggae music that is out there. Members include JAH Mark from Sierra Leon, the quintesential story teller, an inspried Rasta man, and yet another prolific song writer to add to the mix. On lead guitar and vocals, is Kohl Fixari, a bright young gun in the reggae scene whose talent continues to shine and blossom. Recently the Ark Band has added a brother/sister team on keys whose skillful sounds help to fill up and color the music. Sadly they have replaced my late Uncle Gaboo who will always be remembered as one of the kindest souls and brightest lights to grace reggae music. Uncle G gave me my 1st job playing reggae and more than 20 years ago, and was the 1st one on the scene after 2 of my 3 children were born. If you do not have any of their music it can be purchased at www.thearkband.com or on iTunes. Get some and be prepared to be uplifted by one of the best bands in reggae who have played this music with all their hearts for more than 2 decades. The band has been reborn in the last few years with the addition of bright, inspired young talent to help these veterans continue to bring this One Love message to todays generation. This is old school reggae at its best!
